Waterside Cribbage League 2024-25
Agenda for the Committee meeting to be held on 23 February 2024 at the Glen.
Those present: -
M. Orchard, Chairman Lord Nelson
D. Steele, Secretary Hythe Club
M. Smith Forest Home A
I. Coombs Forest Home B
Apologies received from: - J. Steele, Hythe Club, B. Pearce, Treasurer, The Glen, L. Stroud, The Glen.
Absentees: - K. Rowbottom, Forest Home A
The Chairman opened the meeting at 7:15pm.
Agenda: - As we are approaching the end of the league season, with only five matches to play each, there wasn’t anything on the agenda. As the Treasurer was not in attendance due to family commitments, he could not be asked if all of last seasons trophies had been asked to be returned yet, we will request that at the next meeting.
Matters arising: - The subject of venues for competitions for next season was raised, after discussing the options, it was decided that for the early rounds that needed more that two venues, the matches would be played at the Forest Home, the Roebuck and Hythe Club (subject to the lounge being available there).
For subsequent rounds where only two venues are required, then they will be played at The Glen and Fawley Royal British Legion. For latter rounds where only one venue is required, The Glen and Fawley will hold alternating matches, with the exception of Finals Night which will always be at The Glen as they don’t charge for the room or the food provided on that night or on Presentation Night.
D. Steele will play against J. Steele in the final pf the Committee Cup and T. Taylor will play against I. Coombs in the Secretary’s Cup final on Presentation Night
Any other business: - None.
A volunteer or volunteers are still needed to take over the position of League Secretary for next season, ideally before the AGM, so that the current secretary can go through all the paperwork and the computer programs that I use with them, then the handover can be done at the meeting.
The next monthly meeting is on 30 March 2025, at the Glen, starting at 7:15 pm.
The Chairman closed meeting at 7:27pm
